Enkindled (enkindled.app and its related apps, including Enkindled CFF) is operated by Ave Maria Dev, a sole proprietorship based in California, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). Enkindled provides communication and administration tools for parish and ministry formation programs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information across our websites and apps.
1. Our Role: Programs and Their Members
Enkindled handles two kinds of personal information.
Account holders. Program staff and coordinators ("operators") create accounts with us directly. We are responsible for that account information as described in this policy.
Member records. Operators enter and manage records about their program's members — students, participants, and their families. For member records, the parish or program is responsible for the information, and Enkindled processes it on the program's behalf to provide the service. If you have a question or request about member records, the fastest path is your program's coordinator; we assist programs with any such request.
2. Information We Collect
Operator accounts include a name, email address, and sign-in credentials.
Member records entered by operators may include names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, family and guardian relationships, enrollment and attendance records, and preferred message language.
When someone registers for a program through one of our forms, we collect what the form asks for, including any text-message consent given.
We also keep records of the messages programs send and their delivery outcomes, including consent and opt-out records.
Like most online services, our servers automatically record basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, browser type, and pages or endpoints requested, used for security and troubleshooting.
Our websites use only essential cookies needed to function, such as login/session and security cookies. We do not use advertising trackers.
3. How We Use Information
- Deliver the communications programs send — email and text messages — to the right people
- Operate the service: rosters, schedules, attendance, registration
- Provide support to programs and account holders
- Protect the service, prevent abuse, and maintain security
- Maintain required business records
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, share one program's information with another, or use member records to train artificial-intelligence models.
4. Text Messages (SMS)
Programs may send informational text messages — announcements, schedule changes, reminders — to people who provided a phone number and opted in, typically during program registration. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help; you can also ask your program coordinator to update your preferences at any time.
Phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information.
We share information only with the service providers needed to operate: text-message delivery (Twilio), email delivery (SendGrid), website hosting, and network security (Cloudflare), and with legal authorities if required by law. For minors, program communications are directed to a parent or guardian rather than to the minor.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where laws such as those in the EEA or UK apply, our legal bases include: contract (providing the service to programs and account holders), legal obligation (required records), legitimate interests (operating, supporting, and securing the service), and consent (text messaging opt-in). You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
7. Data Retention
Account information is kept while the account is active. Member records are kept while the program uses the service and are managed by the program's operators, who can correct or remove them. Records of sent messages, deliveries, and consent are kept as operational records of what was sent, to whom, and with what permission. When information is deleted, some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or record-keeping purposes.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, object to or restrict certain uses, or request a copy. For member records, contact your program coordinator or us; for account information, contact us directly. We honor deletion requests except where records must be kept as described above.
9. Children's Privacy
Enkindled does not offer accounts to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Information about minors in a program is entered and managed by adult program staff and parents or guardians, and program communications concerning a minor are delivered to a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Security
We protect personal information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that limit each program's operators to their own program's records, and standard server security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information entrusted to us.
11. International Processing
Ave Maria Dev is based in the United States, and information is processed in the United States, which may have different privacy laws than your country.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with the updated date at the top.
